About the City
Coimbatore city popularly known as 'Manchester of South India'is strategically located at the junction of three modern southren states-Tamil Nadu,Kerala and Karnataka.It lies between 11° North Latitude and 77 ° East Longitude at an elevation of about 411 meters.The mean maximum and minimum temperatures vary between 35°c and 18°c.highest temperatures ever recored is 41°c and lowest is 12°c.It has a plesant,salubrious climate due to its proximity to thickly forested mountain ranges and the cool breeze blowing through the palghat gap,which makes the consistently hot temperatures plesant.The city has a tropical wet and dry climate,with the wet sessions being from October to December due to the northest monsoon.The scenic hill stations namely Ooty,Munnar and Kodaikannal and nearbyexciting Kerala wih its enhancing back-waters and Ayurvedic health resorts are popular tourist places.
